CancerCare is a national organization that provides telephone, online and face-to-face counseling, support groups, education, publications and financial and co-payment assistance for cancer patients. Professional oncology social workers offer personalized care, and all services are free of charge. Help is available by diagnosis, such as type of cancer, or by topic. Topics include diagnostic tests, anxiety, teens, veterans, and many more. Financial assistance is available based on income level and for specific expenses, including transportation and childcare. Co-Payment assistance is also available for qualified patients to help with chemotherapy cancer medication costs.

Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation of Nevada is affiliated with the Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation, an international network of parent support groups. Each family is encouraged to participate at their own level, in their own time.

Caring Connections is a network of more than 200 transplant survivors who provide emotional support to patients and caregivers through phone conversations, emails, texts, letters or visits.

Caring Connections is a network of more than 200 transplant survivors who provide emotional support to patients and caregivers through phone conversations, emails, texts, letters or visits. It's a place where knowledge is shared, hope is given and connections are made. More than 1,000 bone marrow, blood stem cell or cord blood transplant survivors and family caregivers have volunteered to provide support to others facing a transplant.

Talk with someone who:

  • has been through a transplant
  • understands how you feel
  • can provide non-medical information and emotional support
  • can offer tips for coping with household and job responsibilities, the needs of other family members, and more.

CaringBridge is a social network keeping families and loved ones connected during any type of health event. The CaringBridge mission is to amplify the love, hope and compassion in the world, making each health journey easier.  CaringBridge provides a protected online space where you can create a site to connect, share news and receive support during any type of health event. There is also a planner that helps family and friends coordinate care and organize helpful tasks within a shared calendar. CaringBridge offers multiple privacy settings, personal data is not sold and there is no intrusive advertising. The site is available in both English and Spanish, and is on the web and available on iOS and Android.

The Carson Tahoe Cancer Center and Resource Center serves cancer patients as their guides to resources and services available to them within the Northern/Central Nevada area.

The Carson Tahoe Cancer Center and Resource Center serves cancer patients as their guides to resources and services available to them within the Northern/Central Nevada area. Staff includes seven patient Navigators, many who are cancer survivors, and a Nurse Navigator. A lending library that includes a large variety of current literature on all cancers, treatment management, and recommended website information is free to the public. Services at the resource center include yoga, and exercise programs, massage therapy, monthly education seminars, educational and support meetings, one-on-one navigation, financial guidance, travel assistance, a housing program, wigs, head coverings, post-surgical garments and prosthetic assistance. Programs focus on quality of life and evolve as needed based on community needs. All Resource Center services are free.
