Community health workers and clinical care coordinators play an important role in cancer prevention and early detection. From sharing information on risk factors and prevention to encouraging screening, the work of CHWs and care coordinators can have a dramatic impact on colon cancer screening rates, especially among underserved and high-risk populations.
Join us for this FREE webinar opportunity to kick off Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month. The presentation will help you to:
  • Describe the burden of colon cancer nationwide and in Nevada, and how mortality from colon cancer can be reduced through prevention and early detection.
  • Identify the most effective screening methods, as well as systems, tools, and resources to increase screening rates and preventive behaviors.
  • Discuss key messages to help change a client's "no" to a "yes" when ti comes to adopting preventive behaviors and adhering to screening recommendations.
  • Identify a communication plan to follow up with clients and increase compliance with provider recommendations.
