Saint Mary’s Center for Cancer is accredited as a Community Hospital Comprehensive Cancer Program by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer and features the latest technology available in the region’s newest, most-comfortable facility. Designed for the comfort and convenience of patients, the 15,000-square-foot Center for Cancer is located in Saint Mary’s Center for Health, immediately adjacent to Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center. Saint Mary’s Center for Cancer is accredited from the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), becoming the first accredited breast program in the state of Nevada. The program provides patients with a top-notch program from screening to diagnosis, and throughout treatment to survivorship. Breast Nurse Navigators offer assistance to patients throughout the process. The center features a variety of support groups and an American Cancer Society Resource Center, along with research and clinical trials, outpatient nutrition and more. Support Groups and programs include: On With Life Breast Cancer Support Group General Cancer Support Group Empower Your Journey, a 4-part survivorship program series covering physical health and wellness, nutrition and your diet, spiritual and mental wellness, and symptom and side effect management. Each session is 1.5 hours and sessions are offered once a month and cycle through each topic.
