The National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship is dedicated to patient education and advocacy. Their Cancer Survival Toolbox is a free, self-learning audio program for survivors (starting from diagnosis) to help develop important skills to better meet and understand the challenges of their illness. The audio program and Toolbox is available in both English and Spanish. Elements of the Cancer Survival Toolbox include segments on communicating, finding information, making decisions, solving problems, negotiating, standing up for your rights, topics for older persons, finding ways to pay for care, caring for the caregiver, living beyond cancer, and dying well. The organization also advocates for policies to enhance cancer care.
