Radiation Exposure Screening and Education Program
The Nevada Radiation Exposure Screening and Education Program (RESEP) was established to identify and locate people who exposed to radiation from above-ground nuclear testing and provide medical screening and referrals, educate the public on radiation induced illnesses, and assist eligible citizens to access the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act (RECA). Qualifying "downwinders," onsite participants and former uranium workers have access to free annual cancer screenings focusing on the early detection of cancer. Screenings are offered at locations in Las Vegas, Caliente, Reno, Ely, Winnemucca and Elko. RESEP can also assist with applying for RECA compensation.
