Ronald McDonald House Charities Northern Nevada
The Ronald McDonald House program provides a “home-away-from-home” for families so they can stay close by their hospitalized child at little or no cost. The northern Nevada Ronald McDonald House allows families to access specialized medical treatment by providing a place to stay at little or sometimes no cost. The House can accommodate up to twelve families at a time with the average length of stay being 10 days. Families are eligible to stay at the Ronald McDonald House if: They have a child age 21 or under receiving medical treatment at a local hospital or medical facility and they live 30 or more miles from the house. All families must be referred by a doctor, nurse, social worker, or other medical source who can verify patient information. Ronald McDonald House in northern Nevada also provides travel assistance to parents when a child’s medical treatment is not available locally. Our goal is to ensure that the cost of travel does not affect a child’s ability to get the care they need.
